Takata inflator airbag recall campaign

What's the problem:

Takata, who supplied Nissan with airbags for a the models listed below, has advised Nissan that these airbags may over time develop a fault.
In the event of an accident the airbags may inflate with such extreme force that parts of the airbag unit could shatter firing metal fragments into the cabin.
In such circumstance these metal fragments could cause severe injury to you and/or your passengers.


What should you do?

Act now. Don’t delay. If you have not already had your vehicle repaired, please contact Nissan with your VIN number to verify if you vehicle is affected. A list of affected vehicles and production periods is listed below.

How do I find my car’s VIN number?

Your Vehicle Identification Number, or VIN, is found in the bottom corner of your windscreen, on the inside of your driver door frame, or in your maintenance record book. They are 17 digits long typically.  


What is Nissan doing to help affected customers?

Inline with Nissan’s standard Recall policy we are:

  • Contacting all customers where we have up to date contact information
  • Arranging for a free appointment at a Nissan Service Centre for free replacement of the airbag inflator
